This is a posed picture of rats building a Lego spaceship. (Actually, they aren't really building it. As I said, this picture is posed. The rats are actually eating sunflower seeds).

Feel free to use this picture, as long as you do not claim to have taken it yourself, or any other untruth, and as long as it is not used within the context of any disparaging remarks and/or claims about rats.

The new Chronicles of Narnia movie opened in the U.S.A. on Friday. The writer of the Chronicles of Narnia book series, the first of which (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) the new movie is based upon, is generally known by his real name, abbreviated to C.S. Lewis. For those of you who wish to know, the C.S. in C.S. Lewis stands for Clive Staples.

Harry Potter theory: The initials "R.A.B.", used to sign the note in the false Horcrux in the sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, stand for Regulus Black, Sirius Black's brother. The "A" will turn out to be his middle initial. I am making no claim to any evidence outside of that in the books, for example statements from J.K. Rowling or others, so please do not quote this as fact. It is only a theory.

Rats make excellent pets because they are easy to care for (although they need attention, as in playing, especially if, for some reason, you only have one) are very smart, are unobtrusive, are very cute, and do not normally cost as much as dogs to keep and care for well. They also can have a considerably longer lifespan than mice, which is better for the owner emotion-wise. Plus, young (almost baby) rats look like puppies, which is good if you like dogs.

Welcome to SmartStuff, the blog I decided to publish for fun. This is where I will write about whatever I feel like writing about, whether that is books, math, science, pet rats, computers, movies, or anything else. Enjoy exploring whatever I post about, when I have time to use my pathetic dialup connection...

Here I sit in front of my Mac G4 Dual 500 Megahertz Processor computer. I have created my blog. It appears to be functioning correctly. More to come...
